Our Care
At Cheadle Dog House our care is exemplary. We provide home-from-home care where our aim is to build up trust with your dog (and their owner), as we know from first hand experience how worrying it can be to leave you pooch in the trust of someone else.

Why we love dogs!
We absolutely love the dogs who come to stay with us at Cheadle Dog House. Our natural love and passion for animals extends to make sure that your pooch has a wonderful, relaxing yet stimulative and stress-free time during their stay. We genuinely believe that dogs like staying with us, and the feeling is mutual. In fact, research has found that the same hormone, oxytocin, spikes in both human and canine brains when a dog is happy and engaged.
All owners know that their dogs are clever and have figured out how to insinuate themselves into human society in ways that benefit them and humans. We get affection and attention, and they get the same, plus food, shelter, and protection. To grasp this exchange doesn't trivialize our love for dogs, it explains it.
We believe that dogs have evolved specialised skills for reading human social and communicative behaviour. That's why we love every dog that stays with us as if it were our own, and we know that our dogs return their devoted affection.

Our core aim
Our over-arching aim is to provide the very best doggy care, building trust and a strong reputation with our customers (and our pooches), and to ensure that each and every dog that stays with us enjoys every minute of their stay. A small and reliable family run business based out of our own home in the heart of Cheadle, we offer a personal and friendly alternative to boarding kennels. We understand that owning and caring for a dog is great fun and immensely rewarding - but it's also a big responsibility. Dogs that come into our care should be neutered or spayed (unless a young puppy) and should not be aggressive or dominant. Your dogs vaccinations should be up to date and we require sight of these documents (DHLPP and Bordatella, aka kennel cough]). It is also recommended that your dog is using effective flea & tick preventatives.

Social responsibility
We know that responsible dog ownership goes beyond simply providing food, water and shelter. We make sure that every dog left in our care is kept under control at all times, particularly in public places. This means being vigilant of other dogs, walking on a lead and always cleaning up after a dog should fowl.

Value added services
We offer a personal and very friendly approach, caring for a small number of dogs in safe, happy and engaging environment, with plenty of stimulation, exercise and rest. We only look after dogs who will fit in with our lifestyle and practicality of our service, bearing in mind the wellbeing of all other dogs we look after.
